Prayer filled greetings from Jesus Youth Karnataka!
At the onset we wish you God’s choicest blessings upon you and your family.
For us Jesus Youth, the Jubilee was a time of special grace for everyone in the movement, during the course of which there were numerous occasions to reflect on the call and mission of being a Jesus Youth. The declaration of the Year of Faith has been most eagerly welcomed in the Jesus Youth movement as a God-given opportunity for ‘fostering the graces received during the Jubilee’.
In this context, Jesus Youth is initiating a series of regional conferences titled “Faith Conference 2013” across the country, with the central theme “Faith’. The conference in the region of Karnataka will be held from the 25th(8:30am)to 27thof January, 2013 (5:00pm) at the Apostolic Carmel Generalate (behind Sagar Hospital on Banerghata Road), Bangalore. This 3 day Conference will be based on the theme "Know the Faith", "Live the Faith" and "Share the Faith".
Accompanying youth on their journey of faith has been the favored mission of the Jesus Youth movement and this conference would enable the participants to know more and re-discover their Faith. Around 800 to 1000 Jesus Youth from across Karnataka are expected to participate in this conference.
It is with much thirst and dreams for the Lord that we host this program in Bangalore. The program is organized in three streams – for youth in English, for youth in Kannada and for families. We have even organized a Kids Care centre to take care of the children during the Conference days.
With great happiness, we invite you all to come and be a part of this Conference and share with us the blessings from above.
YOUCAT stands for “Youth Catechism”. It is an official youth catechism recommended by Pope Benedict XVI and compiled under the direction of the primary editor of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of Vienna. Developed with the input of young Catholics, YOUCAT is a faithful and contemporary presentation of the Catholic Faith.
Dear young friends! Study this catechism! This is my heartfelt desire.
Form study groups and networks, share with each other on the internet!

Let's 'TOGETHER' unravel the truths about our faith and existence. Let's respond to the call of our Holy Father and study the basic teachings of the church online one question at a time. Also welcoming all our catholic, non-catholic brethren to explore the catholic faith and really experience what she is, not what you think or heard what she is!! Be part of the TOGETHER initiative on the JYBangalore Facebook page. Answer the questions, share your views and lets together learn.
During the month of December, many Jesus Youth under the initiative of Wednesday Professionals Prayer Group went carol singing to around 50 families in Bangalore. Through these house visits, they spread the word for the Outreach Child Support project. The contributions collected through this carol singing outreach has been handed over to the Outreach Child Support.
A gathering of Priests and Religious, organised by KJYT, "Abhishiktha 2012" is happening in Bangalore from the 18th to 20th January 2012. The preparations for the same is underway. Please pray for this gathering.
There are many challenges and difficulties that we as a family encounter in a city like Bangalore. At some point or the other we have all asked ourselves; How do we
Connect with other families with good Christian values?
Find a support group of friends who will help us deepen our faith in Christ?
Instill the right attitudes and values in our children?
Help our children find good role-models and friends?
Remain rooted in faith?
Reach out to others and share the gospel?
Make a difference in the society that we live in?
The Jesus Youth Family Ministry is starting an initiative to build Communities of Christian Families who will help each other be rooted in Christ and bring back the vibrancy of the first Christians into their local parishes.
This initiative aims to create a platform for families in Bangalore to connect with each other, build fellowship, become a mutual support system, grow deeper in faith, reach out to others and become active members of the local parishes.
As part of the ‘Days-Of-Grace’ initiative Jesus Youth Bangalore (Pro-life Ministry) is organizing a pro-life exhibition called ‘Celebrate Life’ this weekend (May 8th & 9th) at St.Anthony’s Friary Church.
Requesting your prayers and presence for the exhibition. It will be of great help to the organizers if you can share this information with all your friends and well wishers.
This exhibition is open for all in Bangalore. Be there, Get Friends and Support Life!
2010 is a very special year of Grace for Jesus Youth movement. It is the year when the movement celebrates the Jubilee, 25 years since the inception of the movement. A year to look back and thank the Lord for the long years of guidance and protection that He has been providing the entire movement. To make this season of Pentecost in the Jubilee year of the movement more unique and grace-filled, Jesus Youth Bangalore plans an itinerary of prayerful initiatives. These prayer initiatives are meant to give an impetus to the members in the movement to rise above their normal call and lift themselves, their neighbors and the entire city of Bangalore to a prayerful new high.
We plan to start these initiatives in different parts of Bangalore (like Whitefield, Bannerghatta areas) but the central adoration centre will be at St.Anthony’s Friary Parish. Through this initiative we also desire to make a dynamic contribution to the parish in her mission and call.
These adorations are inspired and in lines of the one’s we started across the globe and different parts of India. The Adoration in Centro San Lorenzo, the Int'l Youth Centre at Vatican from February 17th (Ash Wednesday) to April 4th (Easter Sunday) continues to receive an overwhelming response from various Bishops, Priests, Religious& the laity around the globe. Our blogspot http://jylentenadoration.blogspot.com/ provides details of this initiative, updates and responses/experiences of a few people who had the privilege to be a part of this initiative.
Our prayer campaign leading up to our Pentecost day (May 23) will begin on April 5th (day after Easter) taking us through 7 weeks of prayer monsoon. All live updates will be posted on this blog.

WHY ARE WE HAVING SUCH AN INITIATIVE?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Phil 4:6)
The whole movement is going through a phase of purification and renewal this year. Also as the verse says, this year being a year of special Grace is the right time to intercede and pray for our needs. The main intentions that we will be lifting up in prayer:
Intentions of the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI
Priests & the Vocations to PriestHood
True Spirit of Metanoia to each member of the Parish Family
Needs of Catholic Church in Bangalore & Karnataka
Franciscan Fathers & all the Missionaries of the Church
Jesus Youth Movement
We ask the Lord to strengthen our movement and each one of us to respond to our call for mission with zeal and commitment. We also pray for the intentions of the Holy Father and to strengthen the Holy Catholic Church through more vocations, especially during this year of Priests.
HOW WILL THIS INITIATIVE BE PUT TO ACTION?
When: We will have the adoration which is the central initiative from April 5th (Easter Monday) to May 23rd (Day of Pentecost) everyday from 8am to 8pm.
Each day will be divided into 3 slots -- 8am-12pm, 12pm -4pm and 4pm-8pm. There will be a minimum of two people at any given time for the adoration.
We will have mission volunteers who will take 1 month commitments for this adoration. We will also have weekend, Sunday or weekday volunteers as well.
We will also promote and encourage people during their lunch breaks (spiritual lunch break), before work or after, before class or after, in their free times to walk-in to the adoration centre and join together in prayer.
Fast and pray slots (pray from office, class or home). Join the adoration virtually in case you can’t make it on a particular day.
As mentioned above these mission volunteers will be available throughout these 50 days to coordinate the smooth functioning of the adoration. These volunteers will be managing the office, communications and will also be looking into the materials needed at the adoration centre. These volunteers will also collect all the prayer requests via SMS which people will send out.
In addition to the daily adoration we will be having other initiatives in the parish in connection with the weekly themes (on weekends):
